Old news is so dull, huh. But for the sake of continuity, I'll keep it here...
Well, the first three months passed successfully,
and now the winter is upon us. I've been
round the world once, spoken at many conferences,
written some papers and a magazine article.
Yes, business as usual -a conference speaker
and spokesman for a company with a three-letter
name ;-)
I also finally installed my HTML editor on
my new laptop (a Thinkpad T20) and am once
again in a position to maintain this web
site while I'm on the move, so hopefully
will be able to keep things in better shape.
(October 25)
I spent an interesting first week as a Sun
employee at JavaOne in San Francisco. I've now completed three
weeks, have my badge, have given a keynote
address at AD2000, given two interviews and am indeed starting
to have fun. (June 23)
So the time is here. I start with Sun on Monday June 5th over in California - my last day at IBM is Friday June 3rd. If you are at JavaOne do sent an e-mail and we can try to meet up. After that look out for me round Cupertino, I am based in CUP3 and living in Los Gatos when I am not home in the UK.(May 31)
The news is that I resigned from IBM on Friday
May 5th. I expect to start work for Sun Microsystems in June as their Chief Software Evangelist.
I'll have a manager in the US and will stay
resident in the UK, so expect to travel about
half the time. (May 7)
